SOPA - Have we already lost?

Before I even knew what SOPA was I could see the ways in which corporations were trying to cut back any and all forms of use of their products by anyone that wasn't working for them or giving them money. Piracy while unfair to these companies has led to an even more unfair series of waves against our rights and the freedoms on the internet.

YouTube while generous enough to allow partnerships and monetization is making it very hard for people like me-gamers that want to take their talents and passions and make a little profit from the huge amounts of money they're getting from advertisements on videos.

Despite giving them everything they want and more to prove our right to make these videos, distribute them and work together with YouTube to make something back for our effort, their system is constantly glitching up, copyright striking, video deleting and even partnership terminating over things that don't even exist let alone infringe on anyones rights.

Almost every single one of our gameplay videos consists of commentary and meets the requirements THEY TOLD US ABOUT and yet they still disable our videos for monetization. It's starting to look like the only way you can make a video about gaming if you're not partnered and uploading your videos onto TGN, Machinima ect is to show a blurry slide show of screenshots with no sound...otherwise, you're infringing on the publisher/develpers rights and are not allowed to have your videos monetized. Meanwhile there's borderline porn videos advertising for porn websites circling around YouTube that are monetized and making hundreds of thousands of views.

Piracy of games has pissed off publishers and has resulted in extreme pressure onto websites like YouTube to not allow people to make any profit from their products. The ironic thing is...it's OUR VIDEOS that help to sell their games because we're promoting them! So why fight us!?

I really feel for you man, especially with the amount of time and effort you invest into your videos... You have the whole entire of the population of the internet supporting you, and I think together, we can fuck SOPA up!

i think we did because he was in a dance contest and you tube say to put the video down or he will be in trouble just for him dancing he put it on face book now and he put a video of his son on his grate bane dog or how ever you spell it piggyback ride and some song in the back with him talking over yet again you tube threatened to take down the new video say that he will go to jail if he did not take it down

It makes no sense to take down a video review. It helps promote products by video then word of mouth. Sad to hear you put so much time into making your videos and it gets taken down. Maybe you can upload it at another time.
