I'll just stick with my iPhone's unlimited data plan and PdaNet to tether, which I use daily for quite a while. I don't like having separate devices when I can just use my iPhone for everything.

The extra fee is a kind of network sharing ia WIFI, but the tethering I mentioned is via bluetooth an cable which is totally free. You can try it out!

@mrsonysun I think you're confused here. If you want to use your iPhone and tether it to another device so that device (a laptop for example) can access the internet you must pay a fee. AT&T charges $20 per month for 200 MB.

Oh I mean there is a feature called internet tethering on iPhone.
You can tether the 3G network on iPhone to your laptop anytime via bluetooth or cable.
