This is a TV commercial aired in 1970 from Boston to San Diego. This is a fine example of product placement which costed nothing to Sea-Doo's parent company, Bombardier Ltd. This was filmed near Key Biscayne, Florida. I was Sea-Doo product manager at the time. We had a great time. This video is a piece of history and must be the only copy left.

  • @jefrona WOW, THat's interesting. Why did they stop? Don't get me wrong they're back and are the best on the market, but Kawasaki got a good head start in 73 or 74 with the stand up Jet Ski. Were they fast?

  • @quincee33 You are wrong when you write that Bombardier experimented with a PWC but it never made production in the 60's and 70's. Bombardier went in production with 3,000 Sea-Doo 320 in 1968 and 3,000 Sea-Doo 372 in 1969. I know because I was Sea-Doo product manager back then. Read my description below this video. That is before Kawasaki and Suzuki.

  • @quincee33 Slice was made by Pepsi (here in the States, anyway). Not sure if it's made here in the States at all anymore. I never knew who made Mr. Pibb. I live in Rhode Island and we never see that soda here. Mello Yello is hard to find here also, but in other regions it's easily available. I recently tried one called Sun Drop, which is grapefruit flavored like Fresca, but not a sugar free soda.

  • @elc1960 we get alot of CRUSH products here in Canada, and C-Plus orange...but we don't get Slice - is slice it's own company? was it ever it's own company? and we don't get Mr. Pibb or Mello Yello for some reason but we get Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew.

  • @quincee33 Like most Coke products, they are marketed all over the world. Fresca very likely may have been available in Europe (manufactured in European plants). Coke, Sprite and Tab were available all over the world. Fresca may well have been also. They also make Mello Yello, a Mountain Dew knockoff, as well as Minute Maid drinks, Barq's root beer, and the Fanta flavors. Sunkist and A&W were Coke products for a few years, but they are now made by 7-Up/Dr. Pepper here in the States.

  • @elc1960 okay, but i seem to remember drinking pop from europe....was Fresca european?

  • @quincee33 American product - made by Coca-Cola, same as today.

  • @elc1960 Was FANTA European or was it American?

  • @qwertylaservisionguy Bombardier make SKI DOO snowmobiles, and back in the 60's and 70's they were yellow with a black stripe, kinda like Charlie Brown's T-Shirt, Bombardier experiemented with a PWC but it never made production, therefore KAWASAKI is said to have invented the PWC with their JET SKI'S and SUZUKI invented the WET BIKE as seen in POLICE ACADEMY movies, most people preferred the Kawasaki design more than the WET BIKE design.... Bombardier came out in late 80's with SEA DOO'S

  • After this ad, Fanta introduced red cream soda and black cherry. The other flavors they had were root beer, grape, orange and ginger ale. Now they have only orange, grape and pineapple. And yes indeed, when I heard the jingle I sang along (I was still in grade school when it aired).
