The referees ruled (and correctly I might add) that the leaf player was knocked into the crease by the devils player. Not hard to argue considering the leaf player was unconscious when he hit the goalie.

The Devils player knocked Shane Corson out and Corson fell on the goalie. Because the Devils player commited a penalty that lead directly to Shane Corson falling on the goalie, the goal counts.
