This banjo is made from poplar wood, with a deer hide for the head. I carved the eagle on the tailpiece with my pocket knife, then stained it dark to bring out the details. The plan is based loosely on those found in Foxfire 3. I strung it with nylguts and tuned it to double C when capoed at 2, so I guess double Bb (f,Bb,F,Bb,C). This scale length is 35 inches and it is fretless. The first song is based loosely on 8th of January, and the next one I just made up.
