Yes, that was it! If anyone has a clip, it would be great to hear it again after all these years. I remember chipping to that tune with Pamberi on Independence Sq. and enjoying it far more than the tunes being played up ahead by the likes of AllStars, Phase II (usually my favorite), and Despers. I met Nestor once, but don't know him or the band well enough to know what happened. Anyway, it would be great to see them make a comeback. Godwin Bowen too.
The name of the song offered in 1995 is "Ah talkin' mih mind" and unfortunately they came 12th in the semis and therefore did not make it to the finals. G.B. has moved on to Arima Angel Harps but he has publicly said that no other band can compare to the energy of Pamberi of the early 90's. The problem is that their Manager, Nestor Sullivan is the downfall of the Band. He is a self serving person and he cares very little about the Heritage of this band.
This band will always, ALWAYS be my favorite. The Godwin Bowen years will always be the golden era of this band!! I get a tabanca for this band every single time I hear them play. To Brian, Waz, Capitan, Glen, Dorian, Clifton, Yvette, Wallace, Cuchie, Kay and other frontliners, thank you for making Carnival in the 90's so very memorable.
One of my favorites! Brings back fond memories. Unfortunately, I was living in N.O. when Katrina struck, so I lost my entire collection. So thanks for posting this. And congratulations to Godwin Bowen on a beautiful composition, beautifully arranged, and to the band for a skillful execution. If you have G.B's offering for 1995 -- I forget the name of the tune, I only remember it was a sweet haunting melody that was wassy at the same time. G.B and/or Pamberi need to get back into the top 12.
1990s Bowen Pamberi is the most haunting sounding band. Figures they practice next to a cemetery.

This is really a beautiful piece of arrangement from Bowen as played by the vibrant band Pamberi.
