Raw Video: Loose Tire Slams Into Minivan

A wheel flew off a semi-truck near Milwaukee and hit a minivan traveling in the opposite direction on the interstate. Only the driver suffered minor injuries from the flying glass. (Mrch 11)

[coupdetroit87 continues:] Both vehicles were totaled in the same way. Amazingly, nobody was hurt. Had I been moving just a touch faster or been a couple feet further along, I could have been instantly smashed into a pancake as the wheel came down from above. I never saw the truck, and the truck driver didn't stop (maybe that truck was able to disappear like the truck in this video!).

This very exact thing happened to me in 1998. Only difference was two semi tires came off and launched into the air at the same time - one crushed the front of my small pickup and the other crushed the front of the car in the lane next to me. All I remember was that it happened extremely fast (figure 130-140 mph closing speed between my vehicle and the wheel). My eyes and mind had no time to register what was coming at me.
