I'd love to see what this kid can (or can't) do on a machine. CF pad are amazing but they're easier to play on. The lack of raised edges makes it easier to do those suicide runs.

@RapturedSomber so would you only give props to a golfer who plays with cheap amateur clubs and doesnt wear golf shoes that allow him to be stable during his swing? when i was keen into ddr back in the day i bought a soft pad thinking it'd be fine and all of a sudden all of the hard songs i could full combo in the arcade i couldn't do on soft pad. i agree with your point that soft pad on carpet is more difficult but no reason not to give props where a person truly has skill at the game
