The awesome Hazel O`Connor performs at Farmer Phil`s Festival, Friday 15th Aug 2008. Brilliantly backed by her one man orchestra! her set was non-political, and she didn`t shy away from her back catalogue, I still remember watching her film Breaking Glass in 1980, can`t say how much I appreciated her performance. Farmer Phil`s balding grey head can be seen bobbing about in the foreground, thanks to him to for putting it on.

  • I thought she was quite disappointing, but then all I have to go by is twenty years old, so fair play to her for keeping it going. Great festival though.

  • i know what you mean, breaking glass came out when i was about 17 years old, so you can guess how old i am!!! it meant quite a lot to hear the old numbers again, sad for a bloke my age i know. i also meant my comments as a dig at chumbawumba, who i`ll remember for immersing themselves in too much political comment. ian.

  • Nah, set wasn't that good. Less talking, more singing!! But I think this video deserves credit for capturing Phil bopping along in front of the stage though! What a star.

  • don`t know if you were around way back in the early 80`s and remember her from then, problem is i do remember which is why i enjoyed it!! farmer phil obviously remembered too, which must mean he`s not much older than i, which is worrying!! glad you enjoyed the vid though. ian.

  • saw her sing this and rebecca live tonight 4th nov, absolutely brilliant, and got to meet her after show !

  • Thank-you so much for this. Came to Shrewsbury for a funeral, ended up at Farmer Phils and cried my eyes out to "Rebecca", a very special song.

  • Hmmm. Didn't think much of the set actually.
