Video includes only one Olympic throw, the gold medal effort from Petra Felke of East Germany, but at the end of the video Felke's 80m world record from two weeks earlier is shown. That record was never broken. This is the old javelin, redesigned in 1999.

  • Fatima was generally a much more consistent Championship competitor - had she not been injured she would have won, of that I have no doubt at all. The winning throw was 74.68m, way short of Fatima's winning throws from the previous two major champs (76.32 in 86 and 76.64 in 87).

  • En Petra kon nog verder na de afworp staat ze zijwaarts uit balans

  • pity both the british girls were both injured! im sure fatima would av won and tessa would av won the bronze!

  • een voorbeeld van hoe kunstig de aan loop kan overgaan in de worp
