euromaxx reporter Anne-Katrin Gottschling has been exploring the former inner German border for four days. The route of the border between the western and the Soviet occupied zones was set down in 1949 by the four victorious powers in World War Two. After 1961,Germany was divided by a barely penetrable, double barbed wire fence. Today there is not much left of the inner German border. But in the village of Hötensleben in Saxony-Anhalt,part of the mighty GDR barrier has been preserved.
