FLYING HARPY MY ASS! IT'S A WHYVERN, YOU DIPSHITS!

And Ray Harryhausen did not do the stop-motion for this, it was some other guys.

Why must some people care whether this movie is not accurate, the 'remake' may be critically panned despite being historically accurate. Everyone should enjoy this classic movie.

did harryhausen do the the monster effects?

is this real?

Settle down nerds.... I remember seeing this over an over as a little kid, fed my imagination greatly. The scene with the witches on the ship was terrifying at the the time. Classic fantasy film, good for kids 6 to 11 years perhaps.

The new one is more accurate of the tale of of the Giant Killer. This sugar coated and does not capture the brutality of pre and feudal England.
This tale is more for history and myth nerds.

The 2012 version is not a remake this is a deep mythological lore and this film really did not do it justice.
The lore is very violent and brutal this film did not capture this.

Didn't even know about this movie until I saw the remake trailer... and yet this version still looks way more enjoyable. Though that's probably because it all seems to take place in broad daylight as opposed to the grim "edgy" atmosphere seen in the new one. That, and, well, Harryhausen.

THIS is the Jack the Giant Killer I know. The only one I will acknowledge! My soul died a little when I saw the trailer for the remake. What rubbish.
