This is a video sample for "Boundaries: Stop Getting Abused and Learn Healthy Boundaries" by Jef Gazley, M.S., LMFT, which teaches how to protect your personal boundaries without abusing other people. Jef's teaching and educational videos can be found at http://www.asktheinternettherapist.com
This is a very good basic primer everyone should learn as soon as they start learning their 3 R's. The world would be a much safer and kinder place.

1:30 - Not all statements that start with "you" are "blaming statements." How do you deliver a compliment without saying (or implying) "you"? I do agree that it's better/safer to use "I" statements than "you" statements.

As a person who thought I had conquered whatever it was that had led me into one unhappy or abusive relationship or another, I was not aware that I still had problems setting boundaries. I have realized I was just avoiding situations where I might have my boundaries overrun. I have started learning the strength to set appropriate limits and feel good about it. This clip hits those lessons dead on -- Its like having a personal therapy session that you can replay again whenever you may need it.
