Those Days Are Over

http://www.survivalistboards.com/ Three months after Hurricane Ike passed through, I was walking next to a house down the street where I grew up. There were 2 brothers that lived here. One go it into drugs and killed him self. The other lives in Houston. As I walked on the road, I was thinking about the times we used to go camping next to the marsh. But those days are over.

It really does kind of suck to get older and see your friends and people you hung out with move away never to be seen again, or die, or end up in jail. I know you are getting kind of nostalgic here, I think we all do. Youth is a very special time in our lives even though we tend to take it for granted at the time. My advice is to try to look forward as much as possible, the carefree times of youth are gone but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the life that is left.

this is why every one should have a survival backpack and make lists of your most important carry items. since hearing about katrina, and other disasters i am more prepared than ever, but i live in minnesota and our kits are more for cold weather survival and backpack incase the govt takes our homes or a financial hurricane.
