  • sometimes I hear it... most times... well I got no clue. when I do hear it is sounds like "Wah wah wah waaah waaah waaaaaah"

    does that make any sense?

  • Yes, that's it! Good ear!

  • also, just recalled from the video I took while taking lesson. My teacher told me to imagine dimensions. there are 7 dimensions of string: E/A/D/G/EA/AD/DG. The trick is to let my elbow memorize the dimension and keep pushing/pulling in that dimension. Easy to say, hard to do though.

  • Yes, very hard!

Suzuki used to say: "knowledge is not skill. Knowledge plus 10,000 times equals skill".

  • After watching the movie Amadeus a month ago I decided I would like to learn how to play the violin. I have used your videos as a supplement to my lessons and I would like to express my appreciation for what you do. Most people would charge a lot of money for what you do.

  • Thank you so much for this! It's really helpful!

  • my thumb and index finger hurts after 3-4 hours of practice

you think im squeezing the bow too much for normal volume?

but i believe its needed when doing martele or Fortissisimo

  • I agree completely

  • Your clear explainations and demonstrations are very helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience. I took public school string classes back in the 70s and now both of my children are taking private lessons. You are a very valuable resource, for my own resumption of playing as well as helping my children with their practice.
