7PM News: Second in Indiana, First in Indianapolis

Q: Why is this "Second in Indiana, First in Indianapolis"?
A: In 2005, after WPTA and WISE-TV in Fort Wayne merged news departments, causing 57 employees to lose their jobs at WISE-TV, marked Indiana's very first 7PM newscast (hence, "First in Indiana, First in Fort Wayne.)

As far as 7PM news, WISE-TV canceled its 7PM news in 2006 due to poor ratings. It was replaced by Dr. Phil.
