i love nick cave. i love elvis. i like elvis's version more than this. it's not because he's better. they're two different persons, they can't sound the same no matter what, they express themselves in two different way. /personally/ i enjoy elvis's version more. there's no "better" version. there's two different version and you will personally decide on a favorite (or maybe find them just as good, in two different ways)

Nick gives the lyrics the attention they deserve and he makes you listen. Elvis sings it like just another song. He may not have the vocal skills of Elvis but his expression is on another level.
