Use freshwater salt this is making me shrill lol, the salt will prevent desease like this or better yet invest in a UV steralizer. Salt cheaper but works just as good and make sure your doing your testing for PH and Nitrits if you don't know what those are look them up. When I first started the hobby I bought oscars and by over feeding and not changing my filters my oscar got a disease that ate her scales off. Oscars require a lot of care.
