  • Lol you guys were good, my bands playing this song its really fun to play :) But at the end one trumpet started to early but it was still good, you have alot of trumpets though

  • Thanks for your kind comment. We don't have any trumpets in the band. They are cornets.

  • Same difference. Cornets are basically the same as trumpets. They just have a bit better tone.

  • In the same way that violins are the same as cellos and clarinets are the same as saxophones I suppose? What a peculiar remark.

  • oh god! i had no music and didnt know what i was doing on xylophone! i look soooo vacant haha

  • I think you may be a little reversed in your thinking. But though they may not be exactly the same, the are VERY similar. So it is nothing like saying clarinets are basically like saxophones. On another note, they even sound very similar.

  • Cornets are Conical Bore, where as Trumpets are Cylindrical Bore. I would say Trumpets sit better in a Concert Band, Where as Cornets would sit better in a Wind & Brass Band. Cornets are great for Jazz and Marching. So they're really not the same, i agree with @bannan61; it's the equivalent of saying Clarinets are 'basically' the same as Saxophones.

  • It may be, but cornets play just the same and are generally in the same key. They are just better for concert band, more than marching or jazz. They even have the same amount of tubing, just the cornet is more compact. So I do not think that my earlier comment was wrong.
