7300 was built in 1998 and the rest were built in 1999. These buses were the first diesel low-floor buses in the TTC. 7349 was the last bus to be accepted in the TTC, just days before the new millenium happen. Between 2008-2009 these buses recieved a midlife rebuild and a bike rack installment. 7331 had an engine fire in May 2004 and it was the first bus to recieved the midlife rebuild. All D40LF's have recieved midlife rebuild between 2008-2009. 7308 was retired in January 2012 due to major fire on August 11, 2010.

  • #7308 was recently in the Hillcrest deadline after a fire last summer. So any word of the cause, condition, and route served on? I assume it is retired.

  • @SilverPlaqueVII: The whole rear of 7308 is gutted out. The cause is the battery inside the bus, It was last seen on rt 66 Prince Edward.

  • #7308 can be considered retired. I checked the Feb 12 service summary and that bus was delisted from the parking sheet at Queensway. So now, there are 50 remain.

  • All New Flyer D40LF will be retired by 2016

  • look on CPTDB wiki

and ttc2353, this doesn't sound like a DE40LF's axles in Victoria, even with the same axles for some reason. ima calling someone to complain :D

  • hey do the TTC's D40LFs have MAN axles or ArvinMeritor axles? Because of the back wheel difference between ours and YRT's i think its an Meritor axle.
