my dad had a 2.5 v6. sounds really nice and moved like shit off a shovel lol got it in 2002 when it was 18 months old 4 £12,000 and when we got rid of it in 2009 only managed 2 get £2,000 for it coz noone wants big engined cars anymore espcially as it was really bad 4 fuel economy! i do miss the sound of the engine thou lol and changed it a renault megane scienic on a 54 plate. brilliant fule economy wise but nothing compared to the engine noise from the freebie lol

I agree about head gaskets. You better check it befor buying. It's quite expensive. I read you have to change this long screws (sorry about it, I don't know English word) which weld all engine together. What else can I say? Chceck viscose, vbecause it can be dead and waste your gearbox.

@LakelandNomad WTF? I have the petrol one. It's 1.8 liter engine. I don't think it's weak. It run quite smoothly. Don't expect acceleration of F1 car man :D. It's not bad for SUV. It need kick because it likes high revs.

My TD4 is spot on. Tows well on and off road. Much better than a BMW x5. They drown in water deeper than 6 inchs, and get stuck in the dry.

jeezzzzz.... did you see the shockwave on front window? really nice...

I hate those things waste of money not safe as you can see slow no good off road and BUT UGLY
Freelanders aint bad for the price as long as you get a TD4, which you can pick up for around £1000.
Avoid the petrol one's they are too underpowered and have weak head gaskets.
