I guess you don't follow hockey that much

every team has the right to pull their goaltender to add an extra attack on the ice. Instead of 5 players...you have 6. But as a handicap, you leave your goal wide open. Since it's a risk, teams don't usually do it unless they're trailing by a goal in the final minutes of the game

Sometimes the extra attacker works and they tie the game up and sometimes they got score upon
