I imagined his voice to be different

Rather, as Malcolm X realized, the American nightmare.

In this poem he says, "Tomorrow, I'll be at the table When company comes." On all of my books it says, "Tomorrow, I'll sit at the table When company comes."

I read this poem when I was only a little girl. I had no idea what it meant- I took it literally.
Mr Hughes- for all there is still racial injustice in this world- I hope you can see how true your words became

Does he say, "Now, WITH almost a hundred years of freedom..."
or, "Now, SINCE almost a hundred years of freedom..."?

like the slide but sorry the poem doesnt say "besides they'll see how beautiful we are" its "besides they'll see how beautiful i am" other then that great

I actually noticed the same thing when I was making the slides. When Langston used the word "we" when reading his poem aloud, I decided to write it the same way. He does use the word "I" in all other parts of the poem, and your probably right that the official poem uses "I"
