@mymomby It is the accepted and common way for people to educate themselves about straw bale building!!! Educate yourselves before posting idiotic statements!

@woodbinedrinker She is not overweight for a woman her age and the guy is the architect, which you would know if you had listened. This is a large home, that's true, with 4 bedrooms but it is not a mansion. It is people like these, who do have money but are interested in sustainability and such things that can pay the money to develop technologies. As they develop, they become cheaper for "the rest of us." Don't let your jealousy make you petty.

Right back at ya Devil.
-
@11mac11s Actually, you're the racist one. I was being realistic. :) It is apparent your brain cannot comprehend what the word racist means.
-
That's a pretty racist comment you just wrote me.

@11mac11s Plenty of black Africans, both rich and poor, visit their family in America and other countries.
-
@woodbinedrinker Actually, no. The experience they get from doing it first hand helps them in building their own homes and having people pay them for their newly-learned skill. A lot of people volunteer in order to get hands on experience. I would volunteer, no matter how rich or poor the person was.

First sentence. "I was visiting my family in South Africa."
Right of the bat I knew this white bitch was the Devil. Greedy selfish white people gobbling up every stitch of land there is.
White man is the Devil. Game Over.

@mymomby In the US there are plenty of students who volunteer to help in the construction of homes in return for college credit, volunteer hours to put on their resumes, charity work or even just for the experience.
Habitat For Humanity is one example.
Those with green and eco friendly majors or those who are seeking specialized experience however are more likely to take up work for straw bale, cob or earthbag homes for the experience and knowledge gained.

@woodbinedrinker ........... I agree.
Two spoiled overweight aristocrats sucker volunteers to build them a mansion.
Where are the vids of straw bale houses a regular person can make?
This is bullshit!

very beautiful house, i am hoping to build a straw bale house myself, and i really like the style in which this house has been done. it doesnt have the rough finish some straw bale constructions has. its still looks earthy and real, but also elegant. fantastic work!!
