Two democratic officials in close contact with the Obama transition team say that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is among the candidates that President-elect Barack Obama is considering for secretary of state. (Nov. 14)
How intolerant. Why I disagree with Hillary's political views as I do with Obama. I like the possibility of a Hillary as Sec of State. She would hopefully move Obama towards the middle and not hopefully talk to dictators without preconditions as he ran on that platform in the primaries. I as a Republican would welcome Hillary at the State Dept. It be a whole lot better than Richardson, Hagel, or Kerry.
That is a really rude thing to say. Even if you don't like her, at least have respect for her accomplishments. She came extremely close to winning the dem nomination, and most dems love her and Obama. Our country was much better off during the Clinton years, and most people wouldn't mind returning to that. If you don't like her, then say an actual point of why you don't think she would be good for the job. But calling her names doesn't help make your case. It just makes you look ignorant.
Hillary is more moderate than Obama, and that may be a good thing for him. My personal beliefs are to the left (more than most Americans), but this country is very divided. The Clintons have always understood the concept of taking the best ideas from both parties, which is a good thing. I think Obama will bring unique & new ideas to the presidency. But Hillary could add strength in her ability to take ideas from both sides of the isle, and use the best ones. Most dems love both of them!
Hillary came way closer to beating Obama for the democratic nomination than McCain ever did to becoming president. In my opinion, Hillary has EARNED this position. The dems liked both of them, because they are such unique and talented people. They would make a strong team together. I also really like Richardson, and wouldn't mind him being chosen. I do think the position should be offered to Hillary. Dems want a change, meaning no more Bush! That doesn't mean they cant love Hillary and Obama!
Change....whatever.

Couldn't agree more. Obama is NOT an ignoramus. There is more than a little cunning in this decision.

For me, I would like Senator Clinton or Gov. Bill Richardson to be Secretary of State. I think both are qualified to be nominated for that position.
