The Yemenites and the Hasidim men both wear peyos/ peyot. All other Jewish men (Ashkenazi or Sefardi) do not. The Yemenites were never influenced in clothing by the Ashkenazim

I heard a different version, that the early Hassidim learned from the Teimani kabbalah students of Rabbi Shalom Shar'abi around two hundred years ago.  So the Hassidim were influenced by Teimanim and not the other way around.
