@thegentinquestion Yes I do need to tomato ketchup here

@mollytherealdeal I'm not sure he had any ideals, but I believe he was acting more and more like Andrew Ryan by the end.

@23penguins32 My pleasure. Watch them all!

@atari67 I couldn't agree more.

@Onionkid99 Hmm.. I think very highly of Red Dead Redemption. Planescape: Torment as well. Metal Gear is fantastic, albeit highly pretentious.

@boltorange I may do a video on the character of Frank Fontaine..

i enjoyed your lp and your commentary,and ken stated that its not just objectivism that the game is poking holes in, is extremism in other forms as well, like you mentioned, frank fontaine could not just walk away. all in all, good ideas and a fun game to lp

The mechanic is simple: the game cannot progress until you do what they expect you to do.
Skyrim plays the exact same trick IMHO. You do things with your character not realizing he is controlled.
There is a need for justification: the Doom marine cannot go back, he's stranded. The Dragonborn is bound by destiny, Jack is bound by conditioning.
The devs have freedom to force player to do what they want him to by saying "just because" but they cannot do that with character.

@MarcinP2 Indeed they do have to force the player, but the way in which they do it is marvelous.

Bioshock was a game that really affected me, both in its visuals, storytelling and intensity. It wasnt a horror game, although it had horrific elements. It also had elements of beauty, both literally and in its terrifying vision of what could be. I watched about 4 or 5 of your lets play videos, but then stopped because, despite both of us playing the same game, Bioshock is the closest Ive come to playing a personal game, i.e. you take from it what you want, what your personality wants.

@lawbag1 You're not the first person to say that, strangely enough!
