@Odrox by the time this port of the game was released Gretzky was with the Los Angeles Kings, however when the arcade game was released he was still with Edmonton.
@bohottie hell yeah, just got hitz 20-03 at eb games for A BUCK FIFTY! and its fucking midway sports, so you can get ready to experience hyper-unrealistic shit like being struck by lightening and catching on fire, and smashing people through the glass every two minutes. r.i.p. midway
I'm the same way. I'm not much for sports games but I'd take an NES or SNES era sports game any day of the week over today's games any day.
The more recent ones are just pretty to look at and overcomplicated. But as was already said, all you need is pass, shoot, hit people and a bit of challenge to have a great sports game.
Hockey games nowadays are totally overcomplicated. Seriously...all you really need to do in a hockey game is hit people, shoot, and pass (not necessarily in that order.) The best hockey games ever were those NHL Hitz games on various systems...those were usually hellarious.

Ah, I actually live in Edmonton. It's the capital of Alberta, in Canada. Awesome video as usual.
