(Part 1 of 2) Ford Ave. Crossing, West Side, Wyandotte, MI

This is the video of the Ford Avenue Crossing in Wyandotte, Michigan. This crossing is 1/2 mile away from the Vinewood Avenue crossing. The crossing features 8-inch Harmon Electronics Lights, GS Electronic Bells. The gate mechanism is on its last leg, as the maintainer sprayed something into the motor, and it was hot, which caused it to catch on fire. Suprisingly, the motor still works.

Are both car washes on Ford open still. I used to go to them both! I also graduated from RHS in 2000! great to see the dot on youtube. We need more RHS video's though!

Contact cleaner. It wasn't the motor itself that caught on fire, but a wire that was hot from the pumping action of the gate.

Yes, there is an older mechanical bell on the top of the cantilever. It doesn't work, as you may have noticed. The General Signals Type 2 electronic bell mounted on the gate mechanism pole is what you hear.
