The researchers work with special tools so as not to damage the bones; then the mysterious grave is retrieved as a block and conserved -- not only for research purposes. For visitors to the State Museum in Halle are to be given a direct view into the grave. Restorer Hartmut von Wieckowski has thought up a very special exhibition technique. He wants to make both the front as well as the reverse side of the group of women visible -- only in this way is it possible to see all the details. Perhaps this will shed some new light on the happenings in Salzmünde?
