Why is it that these French artists have such a magical touch with music? It just amazes me. I seriously need to go to France.

People who say "This or that sounds like Daft Punk" embarrass themselves. I'll break that shit down for you guys. The genre is called French House and it makes use of 70s and 80s Disco/Funk samples. Daft Punk was just the group to make this popular and set a new standard.
There were dozens of other musicians doing the same thing. Here are the elements. The typical House music drum machine. Disco sounds. Funk Bass guitar. Occasionally using filters.

@molotov1nz - Both, "Thomas Bangalter" und "Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo" (Daft Punk) were born in france, and Thibaut Berland (Breakbot) too.

@molotov1nz Wow I'm so tired of people comparing Breakbot to Daft Punk. Breakbot sounds like FRENCH ELECTRONIC MUSIC. Since Daft Punk is the only French Electronic band anyone knows, of course it sounds like them.
This comment has received too many negative votes show
is it just called 'french' because it's got parts which are very similar to daft punk??? because these guys are aussies.

@molotov1nz it's called 'french' since breakbot who's made the remix is french. and even if he has a distinct sound of his own he sounds 'french'.
