@drew41164 sometimes life doesn't offer likeable characters. sometimes WE'RE not likeable characters. we want to be liked, but we make it hard for some reason. half of the things fuckhead does to express his love for his woman, he does wrong. because he's a fuckhead. and she's the same. so they fall in love, and make life harder for each other in a lot of ways, but they're still in love, and they're still meant for each other. love's like that a lot of the time, maybe all the time.

Another "trendy" P.O.S., Not one likeable character. the was filmed in my town years ago and I just saw it for the first time....what an embarrassment for my community.

@fcree Haven't read the book yet. But this is one of my fave movies. After 3 times I'm not sure why. Perhaps there are so many random scenarios or thoughts one can relate to - which aren't usually encountered in an [american] film. I love the way his character is somehow more naive/innocent than any of us despite his messed up happenings....redemption film?
But it's late, excuse me:
Awesome film!
