Guitar bends were not "invented" by blues, that's an inane statement made by people who read too much Guitar World and other trash mags. Blues in fact, came from another form of southern worker music.. can you name it? Look, blues is good, there are wonderful guitarists, and its a very early form of boogie music. However, it was ripped off and transformed into what it is...

@psudeoaccount youre not looking at the context of my statement....im saying that blues essentially was the first metal...all rock and everything connected to rock thereafter...is a product of the blues...guitar bends specifically were invented by blues guitarists...can you imagine metal without the blues? i think not

@arkee71 Actually, the British invented heavy metal, with bands such as Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and most importantly Sabath and Priest. Americans pionered thrash metal, and effectively created death metal though, so we kick ass for that.
