Daniel Tammet has the capability to visualize each number up to 10,000 with its own unique shape and feel. He can "see" results of calculations as landscapes, and he can "sense" whether a number is prime or composite. He has described his visual image of 289 as particularly ugly, 333 as particularly attractive, and pi as beautiful. Tammet not only verbally describes these visions, but also creates artwork, particularly watercolor paintings, such as his painting of Pi.

Tammet speaks a variety of languages including English, French, Finnish, German, Spanish, Lithuanian, Romanian, Estonian, Icelandic, Welsh and Esperanto. He particularly likes Estonian, because it is rich in vowels. Tammet is creating a new language called Mänti. Mänti has many features related to Finnish and Estonian, both of which are Finno-ugric languages. Some sources credit Tammet as creating the Uusisuom and Lapsi languages as well.

Tammet is capable of learning new languages very quickly. To prove this for the Channel Five documentary, Tammet was challenged to learn Icelandic in one week. Seven days later he appeared on Icelandic television conversing in Icelandic, with his Icelandic language instructor saying it was "not human."

  • @Omikron404 Y thxs. BTW tht's sarcasim

  • @MakeupwithAshley15 You're also very good at sounding like a total dick who is full of himself. Well done you.

  • Icelandic is easy for me. So is Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japense and Maderin Chinese. But he was amazing for being live on national television. The way he sees numbers, I see language.

  • Ya, Icelantic isn't that bad. I would give him asian languages or a language from a super rural tribe in africa that has no text books.

  • How nice to pick up a language so quickly. I wonder if he can speak Navajo?

  • I really want to hear him speak an asian language

  • he's Harry potter and the rest of us are all muggles

  • @Ev1on sorry for my bad English btw^^"

Anyway, sometimes 80 years isn't enough to be happy :P

(And sry for this kind of anger)

Just try to remember every phone number around the globe. :)

  • @Ev1on I hate those comments, saying "Yes, I know, you're more intelligent than me", "I'm so stupid".. That's not true. I can't accept it.. I've been thinking a long time that anyone could do such things.. But.. People always think there are just 'exceptions' among the rest. Bullshit, more complaint for more frustration ?

You have roughly 80 years before dying. So fucking do something to be proud of.^^
