This video shows off my newly completed AR-15, Rock River Lower with Spikes Tactical ST-22 .22lr upper receiver. In the video I'm shooting Federal Bulk and suffered zero failures.

  • ok, im a noob, but If I buy an ar-15 thats completed, and want to change it to fire somthing like a .223 or the 5.whatever NATO round, do I just need a new upper, barrel and mag? my friend has a 22lr ar and only wants a couple hundred for it. would you buy it and convert it or just buy one already chambered for a bigger round? and would you suggest the .223 or the 5MM nato round? Your input would be very much appreciated

  • @crzygutrsnobrdr You can run .22lr through a .223 barrel you just need a bolt conversion kit like the CMMG kit. However mine is a dedicated .22lr meaning the barrel is for .22lr. it is literally impossible for me to fire .223 through it because the round won't chamber. If you get a .22lr AR15 you're pretty much stuck with a .22lr AR15 unless you exchange the entire upper receiver.

  • have you ever had any problems with it, and if possible, can you get magpul pmags chambered in .22lr?

  • I've only had ammo feeding problems which going by the recommended Federal bulk .22lr has not been a problem since. I don't know of any .22lr magpul mags presently and am currently using blackdog magazines.

  • 16 inch barrel ?

  • Yep yep, video angle sucks most of it but you can tell in the first 20 seconds the barrel is the full 16" length before becoming a SBR by US NFA rules.

  • Nice vid, I bought my AR-22 3 days ago and I love it, it is a m&p smith and wesson

  • @PovRayMan if you could buy a dedicated 22lr would it be worth it to convert the reciever and what not to a bigger round? Because I have a .270 bolt right now, but if I would have had a semi I would have gotten 3-4 deer last year, I only got 1 instead lol

  • is it possible to do a conversion to make this auto by taking it apart, I know it's probably illegal but it would still make a sweet project and I would love to do it lol

  • where does one get something like that?

  • where can i get this at

  • @EvilLamas thats fine, its just if your twist is higher then 1:9 say you have a 1:7 it may over twist the bullet and destabilize it.

  • @richiestang78 ok, I'm getting a upper dedicated to .22lr with a 1:16 twist barrel....

  • @EvilLamas if you have a 1:9 twist barrel it should operate fine
