  • is that the cognac burst finish, because ive been trying to get one but with a darker outline, exactly like yours

  • @jamaoker

Yes, it's the cognac finish. Some are darker than others I've seen - my favorite

    of the 3 choices...

  • what's the name of the song?

  • @3304tsc

It's not really a song - just a generic jazz Bb blues for playing along

with and improvising over. It does closely resemble many blues tunes I've

come to know though, like "Blues in the Closet"...

  • Very nice, very nice playing indeed. Thanks for posting the vid

  • I have the kingpin version in cognac, and when i bought it i played it non stop for about 5 months. what a pleasure these guitars are. i want the kingpin 2 with the cutaway next..in black. i use open G and D quite a bit and this guitar is fantastic for finger style. it's so balanced and the neck is pretty fast for a jazz box...i hope we keep Godin in business for a long time to come. cut the tone back, hit the mxr clean boost..heaven

  • @wildkattraynor agreed. i own one as well. light as a feather. if anything, one would be surprised how light the guitar is upon first picking it up.

  • @wildkattraynor

i own one. definitely not a heavy guitar.

if anything, one would be surprised how light the guitar actually is.

  • @OakPark11MileRd I own one of these and the wood on the body is pretty damn thin so I don't know what you're talking about. Besides my guitar teacher's Schaefer guitar has really thick wood on the top and it sounds damn amazing

  • @OakPark11MileRd What guitar model would you recommend then, for prospective buyers in this category (archtop < $500 w' laminated top)? BTW, I believe the 5th ave's nut width of 1-11/16" is identical to many well known Gibson archtops...

  • With a weight of 4.5 lbs, it's no heavy weight, and the

comments below on it's tonality speak for themselves...

  • Love the guitar.

  • i have one of these, with an external pickup, sounds great by the way :D
