:( i did the trouble in bigtown quest and got shorty and red back i then lft and came back a few days later and everyone was gone :(

but make sure you tell him you are going to help him when you find him or else he will commit suicide

this happened to me; i went and did a quest and went back to get him and he killed himself

random fact:

he can wear any power armour and carry 250 lbs of equipment so it makes him a good pack mule. so don't bring him to big town or you won't have a "pack mule" anymore.

1 more thing... if you want him to keep his hat dont mention he is wearing one =)
