Aloha Oe

My wife put this together to say good-bye and share with others. The photos of our daughter were taken by an amazing volunteer from Now I Lay me Down to sleep. We cannot thank them enough for these memories. The song, Aloha O'e, as sung by Tia Carrere was played at the end of Meleana's memorial on May 23, 2009.

I clicked this video thinking i'd find a montage of flowers and lyrics, but I found this. Such a beautiful picture, and such a sad thing that happened to you. You story has really touched my heart.

My mother lost my brother, her first child, to Anencephaly, a disease that's always terminal. If he wasn't born still, he was going to die shortly after. She decided to give birth to him early, so she could at least have a little time with her son before he had to leave.The doctors didn't even have a heart monitor on him, because they didn't want her to hear his heart stop if it happened. He died on his way to meet my mother.
