It`s a Beautiful Day did not write Bombay Calling. It was written in 1962 by Vince Wallace. Purple heard It`s a Beautiful Day playing Bombay Calling and were inspired to write Child in Time.

@soylem they "borrowed"the riff.....wrote there own lyrics,and guitar solo.....and made a classic! then"its a beautiful day" "borrowed" one right back!...sadly,it wasnt a classic though...ha ha ha.

yes... Deep Purple copied this one. "Bombay Calling" was edited in 1969, "Child in Time" in 1970... ad you can clearly hear the similarity...
