I don't about the culture of "the right" in England, but in US, conservatism and Christianity are closely tied, which I find ironic, as it is the right which supports war most fervently and denounces aid for the welfare of the impoverished (food stamps, free lunch, etc), both of which contradict the teachings of Christ. I'm not a Christian myself, but the hypocrisy is nauseating. Has anyone noticed this kind of paradox in England? Just curious.

That sounds all very nice but what the hell does our country have without financial services? Textiles, shipbuilding, chemicals, mining? No, this country is rich because of financial services. The mentality in this country is ridiculous. In Singapore and many Asian countries that are dependent on finance there have been many recessions but people are not calling for the expulsion of the banks that provide billions of pounds of tax revenues and jobs. UK, time face facts you are a finance nation.
