"Song of Flanders" was a recent finalist in the best "Classical Contemporary Album" (CD) of the 2009 "Just Plain Folks" music awards in Nashville (there were actually several classical categories)! The 10,000 JPF awards internet judges looked at 42,000 albums from 163 countries, 1/3 of 1% were nominated (more nominees than the Grammy's had entries). The criteria was simply that the music "move you." You can find "Song of Flanders" on CDBaby.com, I-tunes, etc. Cuts 1 & 2 comprise my setting of Philippians 4:7 combined with John McCrae's archtypical poem"In Flanders Fields". Maestro Valeri Vatchev conducts the Philharmonia Bulgarica choir, led by Sofia Byrdarska in the National Radio 1 Studios in Sofia. Christo Pavlov; tracking engineer, Pavel Boliarski; post production, videography; Frances Straughan. The video is closed captioned (click on the "CC" box, lower right of your screen).

  • Very nice. I like that choir. I can hear your Irish roots....
