Some cute and easy pieces from an anonymus manuscript for the 11course baroque lute from the Warszawa Nat. Libr. i copied by hand in summer 1971 ... now playing on the Theorbo in d (Renatus Lechner 2007).
Soundtrack from a LIVE Concert at the Dorfkirche Berlin-Rahnsdorf, 25.04.2009

Siegfried Andreae - Theorbo in d

Due to it´s mild sound at low frequencies and the richness of overtones, Theorbo music has a positive effect on personnel well-being (music for relaxation, not making you sleepy).

The videoclip allows a short exercise for relaxing - you watch Mallard ducks at their winter residence at the beach La Vignola/Sardenia (Italia).

  • thank you for your kind comment.

yes, the sound of the theorbo induces very pleasant feelings (even for animals like our cat)...

...the prelude you did already find? the partita will be continued soon, though, it was wrtitten for the 11 course baroque lute, but fit´s perfectly for the possilities of the theorbo. in late baroque, the theorbo was used alsmost only for continuo playing. Siegfried

  • great music and video!

i like the sound of the theorbo, it makes me feel peaceful. (i wish there was more music written for solo theorbo..)
