I've noticed so far most WLS-TV opens/closings are on here except for these:

1. ABC 7 News at 11am rejoin

2. ABC 7 News at 4pm OPEN (not the talent rejoin)

3. ABC 7 News at 4.30pm open

4. ABC 7 News Saturday Morning open/rejoin

5. ABC 7 News Sunday Morning open/rejoin

I will try to get the 4 and 4:30. Sometimes they just play the talent opens for the opens, though. I usually can't get the weekend morning and 11am opens because of time constraints.

I like closing sequences like these that go wider in scope in small steps. I mean, if you're literally walking in town, you don't immediately go from downtown to the outskirts. Thus, take the closest outside shot--the waving crowd--and then show people walking down the street. If there's still time to kill, then and only then do you take the skyline shot. People are more likely to connect with other people than with inanimate objects, so skyline shots should be last resorts.

Actually they moved the talent for 10pm to a rejoin when they switched to those in-house blue/purple gfx BEFORE these Hothaus ones...I'm not sure what year they did it in tho...you're gonna have to ask "csworldwide1"...he knows a lot about ABC7.

Yeah that's what I thought. It's the same for the 10pm isn't it?

They don't use the talent as a main open anymore. They havn't since switching to the Hothaus gfx.

I didn't word my comment right. During the 4pm they will always use the talent either as the main open or rejoin but if they do use the talent as the main open they don't use a rejoin.

they always do a short open @ 4, and always do a talent rejoin...
