  • Wally is an Australian Terrier (Benayr R Walkabout Wally CD, RE, CGC). He turned 5 Jan 2010. Aussies have yorkies in their background but are much large and they have the coarst terrier coat.

Wally is distractable even for a terrier - and they are normally very distracted by things. He is, however, my dream dog. We work very hard on attention, focus and self control.

Good luck with your Yorkie - we had a Yorkie before we got Wally. (I'm signed in as Spin2Weave which is my other site.)

  • is he a yorkshire terrier cause i got one and he is really distracted all the time

  • Just realized that RallyJudge posted while signed in to my other sight - Spin2weave. Those are my comments on the red ball - sorry, Ruthie.

  • I would love to be able to use the ball as a reward - but with the red ball in particular, ALL thought process ceases and training ends. Long story, and yes, I am working on it all the time, but if I want to train can't be done with a ball.

I use a tennis ball on occasion, but even when one of "those" is present in training the mind simply won't focus. I have done lots of control work - but while Wals may exhibit self control on the outside, the inside is BALL MUSH and brain is gone.

  • Hmm I was just wondering why the red ball isn't used as a reward more often...

  • Great Video Pheobie needs that:)

  • Thanks is a great advice

  • Good video

  • you didn't need the phrase "when the red ball is here" to the phrase wally doesn't think! :)
