The 7.6-mile-long Mt. Washington Road is lined with trees, drop-offs, and winds on the way to the 6,288-foot summit.
The road was mastered in a 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car, with an officially timed run of 6 minutes 20.47 seconds.

and then Brit David Higgins comes and does the hillclimb for Subaru USA in 2011, does it without a co-driver (as regulations specify to set a valid record). Not only does he beat the original record, but trounces this by 10 odd seconds without a co-driver. David Higgins is a total boss. Watch it here... watch?v=s4TmKodpqx8 ... who knows, with a co-driver, maybe 20+ seconds faster than Pastrana :P

The navigator is there because it's impossible for a driver to remember every single corner of a rally.
Just imagine a WRC event is composed of more than 20 stages, that means around 360 Km (223,7 miles) of public road. The numbers stand for gear selection in every corner (e.g. 6 left =sixth-gear left-hand corner).
