@bicepius don't know what history books you've been readin' there fella...probably ones written by irrational anti-liberty revisionist historians......we revolted because the king betrayed us....people have a natural right to taxation with representation...a natural right denied by the monarchy you apparently love so much....and so we had allies that helped us...so what? Russia was not one of them though....the Dutch Republic was though

@josamen Read a history book, france faught most if not all your battles for you. You were the ones who portrayed your king. The british pulled out becuase they were fighting france, spain and russia at the same time, the british burnt down the whitehouse as they pulled back. The british could of deployed a scorched earth policy and butcher everybody but becuase you were our brethren it wasnt in our nature to be barbarians like this film portrays the British to be.

Peter Woodward was brilliant in this too....I remember him as Galen in the Babylon 5 spin-off series "Crusade"

@bicepius ummm.....hello-o.....movie about the Revolutionary War here....during this era the British WERE nasty and evil tyrants that deserved the butt-kicking us Americans gave them....TWICE....so I find it actually quite realistic of Hollywood to portray the British as evil....seems to me like you labor under rather lackluster lessons in history

British = teh baddies
Americans = teh good gais

Why are the british always unrighfully portrayed as being evil in hollywood films?.... aaah wait I know, becuase they find intelligence.. sinister.
