what time of the year is the best time to trap leeches.

I have had the best luck around walleye fishing opener.

I'd say the best time is from May 1 thru the end of June, however you can catch them anytime where there isn't ice.

I believe you should stand in the water for a while, it usually seems to attract the most leeches for me.

@JewellOutdoors you should enter the medicinal market!! they work good for alot of things.

We use the rubber band sometimes to help keep leeches from falling out when pulling the trap out of the water.

why do you put a rubber band on the trap?

i use a 6 liter juice bottle with a large funnel attached to the spout end with a wienner inside the juice bottle and have caught up to 140 leeches in 1 night
