i dont see why they care so much even of they had created facebook, 1 it wouldnt be called facebook, 2 it would only be available through the school of harvard, 3 it wouldnt be worth even a million dollars or ten thousand, and 4 it would be utterly boring with not much of things to do in the site, like basically another myspace.
