Adobo is from the spanish word adobar. Mexican and Filipino ties go way back to the Spanish times, especially during Acapulco to Manila trade. For the newscaster, it's tortilya or tortiya not tortila. Freaking gringo accent. Learn how to pronounce ll, sin verguenza!!
