  • The singer said in an interview that the song had two meanings:

    1. The singer loves a Gabriel who's gay/bisexual or a Gabriel who would be a priest in a religion that preachers can't marry (probably Catholic assuming the song is from France).

Therefore, the main idea of this song is that this woman is love with a man she can't have, may he be gay or devoted to God.

This song is for all these forbidden loves we can feel as human beings... I am in love with a Gabriel I can't have... See.

  • Yes, but when you translate, you have to translate the idea, not the words.

  • he was wearing jeans >D not cool. you cant be a naked statue and turn into a live man with pants. and yes, the subs are off. but not completely. THE DECEPTION! HE'S WEARING JEANS!

btw, i love the song, i've been looking for it for ages. because the only clue i had tofind it was the name "gabriel"

  • @minniedonuts432 Depends on the context. In the form of a direct object, lui can mean him or her. But if it's just a regular object, then lui is him and elle is her. At least, that's how I think the grammar works. There might be exceptions, or I might have stated the wrong conditions, but I'm absolutely certain that context is key.

  • lui means his elle is hers

  • isn't lui though one of those words that can mean him or her? if you just heard the song how could you tell it was about the guy?

  • words game it's twice
